DISM/MDT 2010 failed to add additional drivers package for many enterprise company image.

Analysis

Most of the old concept enterprise corp. image is using seperate paritions for system & Users Profiles. The default users profiles is move to another partition. DISM/MDT would be failed to capture or add new drivers.

Workaround

After confirming with the Microsoft, now we noticed that we should use the defaults to put the profile on C: during capture image, and then set the profile path to be on the D: drive after the image deploying.

Problem:

When you’re add a additional cluster node, you got error on SQL installation

Failover instance MSSQLSERVER cluster group not found

Cause:

It is most common cause by your SQL cluster not setup well on first node. A SQL server Agent services should be missing or failed.

Solution:

In First cluster node: Remove SQL cluster node by SQL installation media—Maintenance Tab.

Then Reinstall again. Make sure SQL agent services start & running.

Workaround 2 from other post

1. Open a command prompt and type this command to add a resource type:

cluster restype “SQL Server Agent” /create /DLL:sqagtres.dll

2. Change all the values from 2 to 1 in registery under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\ConfigurationState

3. In the Failover Cluster Management used Add Resource to add the SQL Server Agent resource.

4. Right-clicked on the resource and clicked on Properties. Added Virtual Server name (YOUR VIRTUAL NAME) and Instance name (MSSQLSERVER)

5. Add the SQL Server service as dependency for SQL Server Agent Service. and click ok!

6. Right click the resource and click on “bring this resource online”

Add additional Node to A SQL 2008 Server failover Cluster failed with “The current SKU is invalid” after Lic. Key

Solution:

This bug supposed to be fixed by the first Cumulative Update for bug fixes for SQL Server 2008. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957459/. However, many users are still experiencing this bug.

Quick Fix/Workaround

This problem occurs when you install SQL Server 2008 from a deployment share that uses a custom Defaultsetup.ini file, and this custom file includes the product key for SQL Server 2008. Additionally, this problem may occur when you install a second node for SQL Server 2008 from installation media that has a custom Defaultsetup.ini file that includes the product key.

As a result, we can remove defaultsetup.ini from install media Folder “X86”, “X64” and “IA64” then install again. you enter the product key manually to fix the problem.

Product key:

Open the defaultsetup.ini by notepad
